District Governance and Staffing

Fire District 5 is administered by a Board of Fire Commissioners- three elected officials for six-year terms on a staggered schedule (every two years). The Board appoints the Fire Chief (a full-time career position) who manages the day-to-day operations of the district. The Fire Chief appoints the staff of officers for the fire district, some of which are full-time and some are volunteer. Currently, there are 7 full-time career personnel, a Chief, one career Captain/Paramedic, one Lieutenant/Paramedics, one Lieutenant/EMT, one FF/Paramedic, two FF/EMT's, one full-time Administration Assistant, 3 part-time resident-firefighters, and twelve part-time volunteer firefighters.
