Firefighters have a simple way to describe what they do: Put the wet stuff on the red stuff. At Fire District 5, a lot goes into making sure that happens in the fastest, most effective and safest way possible. We’ve set response standards and regularly scrutinize our turnout times and deployment plans, always looking for ways we can do an even better job of responding to your emergency calls. Firefighters constantly train and drill to keep their skills sharp and learn new techniques in the face of ever-changing technology, equipment and regulations.
